We Come in Pieces is the title of Wahrolén Sherman’s first exhibition at DKTUS. Having trained and worked as a photographer Anne Wahrolén Sherman’s interest in the formal characteristics of photography also manifests in her work with installations and objects. The most rudimentary aspects and consequences of photography, the fragmentation and suspension of time often transfers into Wahrolén Sherman’s installation work. Her installation at DKTUS presents an orchestrated set of domestic objects; style, technique and the handling of these everyday materials connote a disjunction from direct perception and function as mechanics of an underlying tension.
Anne Wahrolén Sherman lives and works in Stockholm. She graduated from the photographic department at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in 2007. As a drummer in the bands Giga and Vidundret, she emphesizes rhythm and control impulse, these aspects of her work with music also come across in her work with photography and installation.
