AJNA
6/8 19-21 Concert: AJNA + Katastroftrion
7/8-11/8 Drop in for personal interaction with AJNA each day 18.30-20.30. For scheduled private views at other times, email for appointment: olov.ylinenpaa@gmail.com .
Welcome to a unique opportunity to experience Ajna, an interactive music machine made by the music collective ‘I skogen ibland’ (Olov Ylinenpää and Jens Peterson-Berger).
The activities at DKTUS will begin with an intimate concert where Ajna plays along with the contemporary live music ensemble Katastroftrion. In the days that follow, we invite participants to engage in private sessions with Ajna in the art space.
Physically, Ajna is shaped by various organic materials, such as wood, feathers, drums, and strings, as well as from parts of electro-mechanical devices and antique furniture, put together in the shape of an obscure, contemporary musical cabinet. While autonomously moving and interactively performing in composition, a new type of man machine interaction is materialised. Among other places, Ajna has previously performed at Kulturhuset in Stockholm, at Orionteatern, and most recently at the electronic Norbergfestival.
Ajna was recently featured in Swedish TV program Kobra:
